On September 11th, 2001, a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks were launched upon the United States. Organized by the Islamic terrorist group Al-Qaeda, nineteen associates hijacked four airplanes targeting New York City and Washington DC. Two planes were crashed into the North and South towers of the World Trade Center, one in the Pentagon, and one into a field in Pennsylvania. Resulting in insurmountable death and destruction, the 9/11 terrorist attacks will forever be remembered in infamy as the largest act of international terrorism and one of the worst days in American history.
Thesis
Resulting in the deaths of almost three thousand people, the 9/11 terrorist attacks propelled the nation into anti-terrorism initiatives and forever altered nationalism in the United States.
